This quickly led to learning how to make skin-care products with only natural ingredients - once I started making these, my skin cleared up, and it felt so much softer and more hydrated. I then looked into making my own soaps and discovered how rewarding these are to make; I love that I can choose and control the ingredients used and that each one is good for our skin in a different way. Oatmeal is moisturising and can reduce/soothe inflammation, Coconut Oil is great for gentle cleaning while also moisturising and soothing inflammation, Olive oil is rich in antioxidants and can protect against premature aging, to mention only a few. I believe that it's time we got back to doing things the way they've always been done, and using ingredients our ancestors would recognise, instead of harsh, harmful chemicals. Homemade soaps also smell and feel so much better than commercially produced ones!
